DuckPDF
For anyone who needs to fix a PDF and would rather not hand it to a stranger's server first.
What it does for you
Legal contracts, invoices, a portfolio you haven't released yet: most free PDF tools want the file uploaded before they'll touch it. DuckPDF does the same jobs in the browser, so the file stays on your machine.
It can compress a PDF, pull out selected pages, combine several into one, add a password, edit text, permanently redact sensitive information, rotate sideways scans, convert images and Word documents to PDF, and turn a PDF into Markdown. There's no account, no file limit and no watermark. It's available in nine languages.

That isn't a PDF. DuckPDF can turn images and Word documents into one, though. Convert to PDF ↗

Runs in your tab
When you pick a PDF, your browser reads it directly. DuckPDF processes it with open-source libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) running inside the browser's sandbox, then saves the result straight to your device. Your file isn't uploaded, so there's no upload to wait for.
You can also install it as an app and use it with no connection at all.
